Description
The hinge typically gets welded to a structural steel angle at the back of the dump truck or trailer frame, one on each side. The bracket side of the hinge faces forward towards the front of the dump, and the swing bracket side of the hinge faces the back.
The longitudinal dump frame rails get welded to the top of the swing bracket, thus keeping the body aligned with the truck frame.
